Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to join a dynamic team in Scotts Valley, California. This pivotal role involves ensuring quality materials and parts are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner to support sales and production needs. The Buyer/Planner will manage supplier relationships for assigned commodities, ensuring that all materials and components are efficiently procured and delivered to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned suppliers and commodities to meet cost, delivery, productization, quality, and capacity objectives. Ensure on-time delivery of orders by recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options.
  • Maintain organization and attention to detail to optimize quality processes and increase efficiency.
  • Identify quality problems and develop timely solutions through strong analytical abilities.
  • Follow documented processes and standard work procedures.
  • Track, evaluate, and report supplier quality and performance benchmarks, working with suppliers to improve their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time Delivery.
  • Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms with suppliers to meet Supply Chain Management (SCM) team objectives.
  • Plan material to meet production and place purchase orders for the procurement of production and non-production materials, components, and services as required by Material Requirements Planning (MRP), forecasts, production schedules, or authorized purchase requests.
  • Make cost-effective purchasing decisions and supplier selections considering potential price breaks versus the cost of carrying excess inventory, focusing on total cost including price, transportation, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage open purchase orders and continuously eliminate material shortages by expediting, deferring, or canceling orders as required.
  • Ensure timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of purchase order issues, invoice discrepancies, returns, and quality problems.

Desirable

  • Experience with PCA and Box Build Manufacturing.
  • Quick learner who handles complexity well and enjoys learning new ideas.
  • Willing to go the extra mile and experience in the Electronics Industry, PCA, and Box Build Manufacturing.
  • APICS CSCP certificate or equivalent (ASCM - Association of Supply Chain Management).
  • Experience with SYSPRO.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, 1st shift.

Benefits

The position offers competitive compensation with a max pay of $43 per hour and a minimum pay of $43 per hour.
